Customs & Import Tax Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026

International orders may be reviewed by the customs authority in the destination country and may be subject to import duties, taxes, brokerage fees, or other local charges. This policy explains how those charges and the customs-clearance process are handled when you order from Wishmascot.

Unless checkout expressly states that a customs charge or import tax is included and collected by us, all destination-country duties, taxes, and clearance charges are the responsibility of the recipient.

Nothing in this policy limits any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

1When This Policy Applies

This policy applies when an order crosses an international border or is otherwise treated as an import by the destination country. Customs treatment depends on the destination, the type and value of the goods, their country of origin, and local laws and procedures.

An order may be subject to customs processing even when shipping was advertised as free or included in the product price. Free shipping does not mean that destination-country duties, taxes, or clearance charges are prepaid.

2Possible Duties, Taxes, and Fees

Depending on the destination, an international shipment may be subject to one or more of the following:

  • customs duties or tariffs;
  • import VAT, GST, sales tax, or similar taxes;
  • carrier brokerage, advancement, disbursement, or handling fees;
  • customs inspection, storage, or administrative charges; and
  • other fees imposed by a government authority, carrier, or customs broker.

These charges are determined by third parties and are outside our control. Unless the checkout page expressly states otherwise, they are not included in the product price or shipping charge paid to Wishmascot.

Before ordering Contact your local customs office or tax authority if you need an estimate of the charges or confirmation that the product may be imported into your country.

3Recipient Responsibilities

The recipient is considered the importer where required by local law and is responsible for complying with the destination country’s import requirements. This may include:

  • paying duties, taxes, and carrier or broker fees;
  • providing identification, tax numbers, permits, or other information requested by the carrier or customs authority;
  • responding promptly to customs or carrier communications; and
  • confirming that the ordered products may lawfully be imported and used at the destination.

Please provide a complete delivery address, a working telephone number, and an email address that can receive clearance notifications. Missing or inaccurate information may cause delay, return, or additional charges.

4Customs Declarations

We will describe the goods, state their value, and provide shipping or commercial documents as reasonably required for lawful export and import processing. The declared value may include the amount paid for the products and any other amount required by applicable customs rules.

We will not falsify customs documents, understate an order’s value, describe a commercial purchase as a gift, or provide other inaccurate information to avoid duties or taxes.

Customs authorities may independently reassess a product’s classification, value, origin, or applicable charges. Their decision may differ from an estimate provided by a carrier, website, or other source.

5Inspections, Delays, and Documents

Customs authorities may open, inspect, hold, or request additional information about a shipment. Clearance times vary and are not included in our production or carrier transit estimates.

We will provide the standard documents reasonably available to us and will cooperate with reasonable carrier or customs requests. The recipient remains responsible for destination-specific forms, registrations, permits, identification, or payments that only the importer can provide.

Customs delays are outside our reasonable control. We will assist with available shipment information, but we cannot guarantee a clearance date, override an authority’s decision, or reimburse duties, taxes, fines, storage fees, or other third-party charges except where required by law or caused by our verified error.

6Refused, Unclaimed, or Returned Shipments

Please do not refuse or abandon a shipment solely because duties, taxes, or clearance fees are due. Contact us first at sale@wishmascot.com so we can review the available options.

If a shipment is refused, unclaimed, abandoned, destroyed, or returned because the recipient did not pay required charges, provide required information, or comply with local import rules:

  • the original shipping charge and customs-related charges are not refundable unless required by law;
  • return shipping, storage, brokerage, customs, disposal, or carrier charges may be deducted from any available refund; and
  • a refund, if available, will be considered only after the goods are returned to and inspected by us.

Custom or personalized products remain subject to our Return Policy and may be non-returnable. If return to sender is not possible or costs exceed the refundable value, no refund may be available to the extent permitted by law.

7Split and Partial Shipments

We may ship items in more than one package when reasonably necessary for production or delivery. Customs authorities or carriers may assess each package separately. A charge on one package does not necessarily cover another package from the same order.

If an order arrives in separate shipments, please review the tracking information before reporting an item missing. For shipping details, see our Delivery Information.

8How We Can Help

Our customer service team can provide available order invoices, product descriptions, shipment details, and tracking information. We can also communicate with the carrier where appropriate.

We cannot provide legal or tax advice, guarantee the amount of an import charge, change a customs decision, or pay charges assessed to the recipient unless we expressly agreed to collect them at checkout.

When requesting assistance, please include your order number, tracking number, destination country, and a copy or clear photo of any notice received from the carrier or customs authority. Do not email passwords, full payment-card details, or government identification unless our support team confirms a secure and necessary way to provide it.
